Book Group Rules


  1. No long books
  2. No old books
  3. No new books
  4. Exceptions may apply
  5. One absolute veto per member per meeting
  6. A veto must be accompanied by a credible alternative (or penalty may apply)
  7. The book may be read by a proxy (or not at all)
  8. Sound understanding or slight knowledge is sufficient for any view of any strength
  9. No referrals from other book groups
  10. The name of the jug-eared leader of the opposition must never be mentioned
  11. No meetings in school holidays.  Extraordinary meetings may be held during school holidays but no talking about the current book.
  12. Meetings will usually be held in pubs
